Wet Sounds Staff Accountant Position

Overall purpose of the Job To assist the CFO in all aspects of the accounting functions.

•        Documenting key processes (Financial Reporting, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory management, Payroll)

•        Assist the CFO in all aspects of the daily, monthly, and annual accounting functions

•        Responsible for the month-end financial close execution for 5 companies

•        Assist CFO in generating monthly financial statements, trends, significant fluctuations and analysis

This position will be responsible for the month-end close process and assist the CFO in all aspects of the accounting functions


Primary Duties

•        Perform and review monthly account analyses

•        Maintain fixed asset sub-ledger accounting including reconciliations and analyses

•        Review and process expense reports 

•        Assist in development of quarterly forecasts

•        Assist in coordination of the internal and external audits

•        Responsible for certain aspects of management reporting

•        Balance Sheet account reconciliations

•        Special projects

•        Review and analyze the current processes and identify issues

•        Keep up to date on new development and foster learning & development among the team


Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, dealing with individuals at all levels

• Mathematical & technical skills (knowledge in NetSuite +)

• Computer proficiency - Advance MS Office (Excel pivot tables and VLookup), advantage

• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, proficient in all other Office applications

• BA degree required with a major in Accounting

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field with increasing levels of responsibilities – with GL/AR/AR/AP/FA and cost experience. Previous experience in an Accounting position in the manufacturing sector highly preferred.
