Wet Sounds Supports Hooked on Miracles with the WS-L Portable

Wet Sounds was proud to support the 2026 Hooked on Miracles King Mackerel Fishing Tournament, held July 25 at Ripley Light Yacht Club in Charleston, South Carolina.

Presented by Key West Boats, Hooked on Miracles brings anglers, volunteers, sponsors, and members of the Lowcountry community together to support the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. The nonprofit donates 100% of the tournament’s proceeds directly to the hospital, helping fund hospital dogs and the STAR program, which gives young patients the opportunity to continue their education during treatment and care.

Powerful Sound for a Powerful Cause

To help spread the word and keep the energy going throughout the event, Wet Sounds provided WS-L Portable Speakers for event announcements and music during the awards ceremony.

Delivering up to 126 dB of high-output sound in a completely portable design, the WS-L helped ensure that important announcements could be heard clearly while creating an upbeat atmosphere as anglers and supporters gathered to celebrate the tournament’s achievements.

With an IP67-rated construction, extended battery life, Bluetooth® connectivity, and SKAA® wireless technology, the WS-L is designed for days spent around boats, docks, beaches, and unpredictable outdoor conditions. Its combination of durability, portability, and powerful sound made it a natural fit for an event centered around fishing and life on the water.

Amplifying the Event

To help spread the word and keep the energy going throughout the event, Wet Sounds provided WS-L Portable Speakers to supplement the tournament’s existing sound system. Organizers needed greater volume and coverage so important announcements could be heard clearly across the event area.

By adding the WS-L Portables to their current setup, the Hooked on Miracles team was able to amplify announcements and bring more powerful sound to the awards ceremony. Delivering up to 126 dB in a rugged, portable design, the WS-L provided the additional output they needed without requiring a complicated installation.

More Than a Fishing Tournament

Hooked on Miracles represents more than a day of competition. It is an opportunity for the marine community to come together and make a meaningful difference for children and families receiving care at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.

This year’s tournament made an incredible impact, resulting in a $300,000 donation to MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. These funds will help support initiatives such as hospital dogs that provide comfort and companionship to patients, as well as the STAR program, which allows children to continue their education while undergoing treatment.

Wet Sounds is honored to have played a small role in supporting this year’s event and its incredible mission. We extend our appreciation to the Hooked on Miracles organizers, volunteers, anglers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make the 2026 tournament possible.
